Apparently Microsoft Had Enough Over In The TechNet Forum

Today, moderators on the TechNet Website Feedback locked a user intitiated thread where TechNet fans were asking for answers about the closing of TechNet. It looks like that channel of communication is closing!

  1. It's not Microsoft, but just a Moderator, so called: Ed Price (a.k.a User Ed), with the next reason:

That's awesome Mike, thanks for doing everything you can!

For everyone here, this is a technical forum to try to troubleshoot issues. Like a link won't work. So that's all Mike can really do. He didn't make any business decisions around the process, and this forum doesn't exist to address these decisions. He basically knows some of the people, and he elevated your concerns to them. That's all he can do.

This is a technical forum (TechNet Forums), and it exists for technical purposes. You will not hear a business strategy response in any forums.

Typically teams do other things like build a Connect site for "bug" feedback and/or build an MVP program to get the MVPs involved in the process. So it's obvious that this system needs something like that. Please have patience with Mike. He is one person with one responsibility, and this isn't it. The Forums don't exist to discuss business strategy (none of them do), and so those people aren't on the forums. The reason why this is frustrating is because there isn't currently an alternative way to discuss business strategy on this topic. So maybe there should be.

Regardless, thank you for your feedback. It is valuable, and Mike is passing it on, so it isn't unheard.

Which is a valid reason if you ask me.
